Join award-winning author Elana K Arnold as she explores how personal pain has been used by creatives throughout history to fuel artistic innovation. She will discuss her own creative process as well as the way other artists have channeled pain--physical as well as emotional--into their creations, and she will suggest ideas for channeling your own hardships into your creative work.  (This lecture will include a slideshow that depicts historic art, including nudes, and the discussion encompasses themes of sex and violence).
